Our main goal is to make the patient life as pleasant as possible

On 2 March, the journal “Information” published an interview with Cocha Giner, Medical Director at Clínica Vistahermosa, one of our associated medical centers.  Information is a reference information leader in the Alicante’s, gives "Major awards" to companies and organizations at provincial level and the Vistahermosa clinic won the award "Important November".

“We work to turn Alicante into health city that has international recognition”

50 Years  providing health services to people in Alicante, founded by four gynecologists in 1963 as a maternal clinic, the Vistahermosa Clinic has become a large hospital with 30 specialties and based on four pillars: technological innovation, the research, medical team and, the most important the patient care.

"We are conscious that the Clinic could not have worked for even ten years without the support from Alicante society, which has relied on us", says Concha Giner, Clínica Vistahermosa Medical Director. Vistahermosa is an entity awarded with the 'Important' by the local newspaper on November 2013, month in which it achieved half a century giving birth to children from Alicante and being by their  side at hard times in their lives. Vistahermosa, which was born as a small maternal clinic in 1963, has become a major medical center, already divided into two buildings, one inpatient and one outpatient, Vistahermosa 76, as it was opened in 2010. "We have been able to do it because we had treated patients, otherwise we would have nothing to invest to grow".

There are many projects for that this clinic has; proud of having received last Thursday the "Important", the first health private companies to receive the award. It highlights the work already done with foreign patients. "Alicante meets all conditions, rather than for health tourism, for health care that international patient must meet. We have the climate, hotel infrastructure and hospitality, and a leading healthcare system at national and international levels supported by universities, as well as an important transport infrastructure. We are involved in this issue, we are concerned about the assistance to citizens and tourists, and we want to expand it. We want Alicante to become a reference, health city at international level, which also will be giving work to many people".

A goal based on four pillars. The first one is technological innovation that enables improvements in patients’ diagnosis and treatments; therefore the groups benefit is reinvested in the own medical centers in order to be at the forefront of technology. Another pillar is the research, "we are health professionals and we couldn't be away from teaching and universities. We have agreements with all of them in the province, public and private. In fact another future project is to do MIR physicians in certain hospital specialties." The third pillar is the medical team, not alone the doctors, also the health professionals, administrative, engineers, staff, all we share a single goal, making the patient life as pleasant as possible since he/she joins the hospital. Being patient is not easy, all we will be at once in a lifetime, and we feel unprotected. Good support is taken for granted but the human side is not always achieved." And finally, something as important as the quality of care: “to achieve patient is treated as needed and not become just a number. With many people from Alicante we are united by a pleasant emotional link of happy moments, because they were born here, but also of other hard. And it is important to feel the human warmth." They survey backed them, welcomed an average of 8.5 out of 10.
