Dr. Jorge Alió receives recognition as the first surgeon who has implanted the new accommodative lens Lumina Akkolens.

It is an intraocular lens (IOL) suitable both for viewing from a distance as close, allowing the patient to stop using glasses as a routine task.

After the study conducted among the clinics Resbiomed (in Bulgaria) and Vissum Vissum Ophthalmological Corporation (in Spain), optimal results have been obtained, about the implantation of this accommodative IOL. It is applied in the treatment of cataract and presbyopia or eyestrain. The Corporation Vissum is member at Mediterranean Health Care Association.

The research results were honored at a Plaques Ceremony, in the clinic Resbiomed in Sofia, assisting as well Bulgarian doctors such as Aleksey Simonov, Alexander Angelov, and Michiel Rombach, in addition to Dr. Jorge Alió (as shown on the picture).

As an exceptional guest, the former Bulgarian international footballer Stoichkov has assisted to the Conference, who awarded distinguished people, in a ceremony that took place on 30 November.
